Talking about traditional Balinese food will not be complete without this Balinese Lawar recipe. This vegetable recipe goes well with hot rice.
Balinese lawar materials
100 grams of long beans, cut into 1 cm
150 grams of coarse grated coconut
50 grams of boiled young jackfruit, roughly chopped
100 grams of chicken breast fillet, boiled, shredded
1 teaspoon lime juice
4 tablespoons of fried shallots
Ground spices:
6 tablespoons of coconut oil
4 red onions
3 cloves of garlic
2 large red chilies
ginger 3 centimeters
4 cm galangal
2 pieces of lemongrass
2 cm kencur
4 candlenuts, roasted
¼ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon coriander
1 teaspoon of shrimp paste, grilled
½ teaspoon salt
How to Make a Typical Balinese Lawar:
1. Sauté the ground spices until fragrant, add the long beans, grated coconut, jackfruit and chicken.
2. Cook until well blended, remove from heat. Add lime juice and sprinkle fried onions.
3. Serve Lawar with white rice.
